How To Find The Perfect Apt

There are couple of important reasons that people love Midtown Houston apartments. It's easy to find something affordable to rent, since current apt prices ranges from $500. to $2500 per month. But,  listen to these quick tips, so you’ll know whether you’re are a perfect match for your apartment and the community, before you visit any apartment or sign on the dotted line for that new lease. First do a free online apartment search for 1000's of apts in Midtown and all over Houston.

The perfect apt, will always have a few more good qualities besides the three A’s:

  • Ample size
  • Affordable price
  • Awesome amenities

In your haste to get settled into some new diggs, don’t neglect to consider whether are not you are choosing the right apartment community for your lifestyle.

Midtown Housing Choices

Your dream apartment can quickly turn into a nightmare if you fail to pay attention to details and accurately assess the kind of community you should live  in. The most common types of residential communities are:

Singles
Multi-family
Mixed-use

The proliferation of new complexes, fabulous  courtyards and swimming pools have made Midtown Apartments one of Houston’s most popular places for pool parties. Fortunately Midtown has apartments, condos and town homes with a wide variety of residential styles that will enable you to find something suitable whether your, single, just married or raising a family.

Living in any apt has it’s challenges and I’ll throw a few of the pro’s and cons at you so that you can consider some of the things you may face before you get locked into a lease.

Multi-family Living

If you’re looking for a multifamily aparentment rental try these places.

I took over a lease in a multi-family apt once. A good friend asked me to stay the remaining six months until the end of the lease. I didn‘t have to pay a deposit and the unit was furnished. I knew the deal was too good to be true.

The sound of a crying baby screaming at the top of his lungs or a kid bouncing a basketball upstairs above me seem to wake me up every weekend. You may not be the ideal tenant for a multi-family apartment if you engage in any of the activities that are listed below:

Throw loud parties regularly
Entertain high profile business associates at home
Hold practice for a rock band and impromptu jam sessions at home

Don’t fret, a loft, town home or mixed-use rentals will welcome you with open arms, but living large in a multi-family apartment might make your neighbors angry enough to file a complaint with the property manager.

A Doggone Good Place To Live

Pet Friendly Apartments

The President had to find just the right dog for his girls, a Portuguese water dog, because one of them had dog allergies. If you share that same ailment you better make sure that your apartment complex isn’t a haven dog lovers.

You also don’t want to end up next door to a cute little tea cup Chihuahua that interrupts your sleep because it barks from dusk to dawn. Or you could move into a unit that was once inhabited by a pet that left just enough pet dander behind to give you a mild case of swollen eyes and a rash that will have you paying for an unplanned doctor visit.

If you’re searching for a Midtown Apartment that you and your four legged best friend can call home? Make sure you add these names on your list of pet friendly apartments in Midtown Houston.

Ample Amenities

A smart cost saving move is to drop your gym membership and find an apt  that has a fitness center, so that you can work-out at home instead of driving across town. Another caveat is that you don’t want to wait until you move there to discover that the place is only open at odd hours of the day when you’re working or it’s only available late in the evening when you need to be resting for work.

Your Futon and 32 “ flat screen may have looked huge in a 700 sq foot unit, but if you move into the 1,100 sq foot spacious open floor plan you have been craving, it will look under furnished and nearly empty.

You should think through how your furniture will look with those high ceilings that seem to touch the sky and the huge floor plan you always wanted. If you have been living in an efficiency or a one bedroom big on value, but short on space, your furnishings could be a terrible mismatch. You may have to spring for a few nice pieces that are more in proportion to the space.

Some of the high end luxury amenities that you’ll find in local apartment communities are aimed at attracting young professionals. Some of the perks that are being offered include swimming pools, club houses and lounges on site.

Great hub. Houston looks like a very nice place to live. I've been toying with moving closer to or in a big city so I can enjoy better access to a wide range of shops and services, and get better internet access.
